"The Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust offers artist-led art workshops to long-stay patients with acquired and traumatic brain injuries twice a week.
I started this unique service in 1992 and continue to run it to this day. Patients are encouraged to express themselves through creative media and the object represented here is an example of dynamic, interactive collage and mixed media work.
Often patients work in collaboration with artists to produce works of extraordinary beauty and originality. This sculpture was previously shown in Boundless Books & Brain Boxes, an exhibition at Hackney Museum in September 2010."
