Hackney Shows
Hackney has hosted many of its own carnivals, such as the Mare de Gras, De Beauvoir Carnival and the 1973 Street Carnival Theatre run by Centerprise. African and Caribbean families were finding ways to share their Black British identities by participating in and shaping these festivals and shows.
