Physical Description

An A3 landscape print of a coloured illustration of Hackney buildings and places - such as Rio Cinema, Hackney Empire and the canal. There are people walking around, socialising, shopping and riding bikes in the mid and background. In the foreground, a lady wearing a blue mask is depicted getting her Covid-19 vaccination, administered by a volunteer also wearing a blue mask and other PPE. Along the top of the illustration, above the Hackney skyline, is a pink banner with yellow text which says 'Thank You!', a message to the volunteers of Hackney who participated in the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out.

Object history

This poster - commissioned by City & Hackney NHS Trust and created by local artist Jane Smith - depicts Hackney and its residents during the Covid-19 Vaccination roll-out to stop the spread of Coronavirus during the pandemic. The poster is a tribute to those who volunteered to vaccinate the public. Jane Smith also donated a series of her art to Homerton Hospital as part of her 'Thank You' to the NHS for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
