Object history

Following the charity campaigns Band Aid and Live Aid fundraising in light of the 1983-1985 famine in Ethiopia, Sports Aid was a sports themed campaign raising money for anti famine efforts in 'third world' countries. The first event was held in 1986. This badge relates to the smaller second event in 1988.
