Object history

During the early 1980s the Labour run Greater London Council campaigned to continue to manage London Transport as the Conservative government sought to remove it from GLC control. With the abolition of the GLC in 1986, London Transport was effectively nationalised, and later succeeded in 2000 by Transport for London.
