This badge is for the first World Aids Day. Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1988, it is observed annually to raise awareness about HIV and Aids, and remember lives lost to the disease. At the time World Aids Day was created, an estimated 90,000 to 150,000 people were infected with HIV.
