Object history
The slogan "Here to Stay, Here to Fight" was used during the 1970s and 1980s by migrant communities in response to racist attacks. Notable examples of its use includes during the Summer of protest in 1978 following the murders of Altab Ali and Ishaque Ali and wider violence inflicted on Asians in East London, and later the Newham Seven campaign.
