Object history

"No plugs for Nazi thugs" was a 1978 joint campaign between the Anti-Nazi League and the Campaign Against Racism in the Media. The National Front had stated that they expected to qualify for air time for political broadcasts due to the number of candidates standing in the upcoming general election. Opponents claimed that these would be likely to stir up racial violence and hatred, and that racist propaganda should not be broadcasted uncritically.

This badge was owned and worn by Hackney activist and councillor Peter Kahn.
