An advice note with carbon copies from Capital Shoes Ltd, which appears to have been a subsidiary of, or an alternative name for, London Lane Shoes Ltd, a Hackney based shoe business who donated many items related to shoe making to Hackney Museum in 1987 (all items in the Collection between 1987.229 and 1987.263). London Lane Shoes Ltd appear to have commenced trading in 1968 in Haggerston, moving to Downs Park Road, E8, some time prior to their apparent cessation of trading in 1986.
Object history
London Lane Shoes Ltd. was a footwear manufacturer which operated in Hackney between the 1960s and 1980s. They were first based in Haggerston and later moved to Dalston.
