Brass mixing bowl to make chapati dough (roti ka atta)
Bowl

Circular, wide and shallow brass bowl, with raised sides. Is it narrower at the base than the rim.
This mixing bowl was either brought to London by Mrs B D Pandit in 1946 or sent for shortly after she arrived from India. The shallow depth and wide base would allow the cook to have a large area to mix and kneed the dough, and make the amount required for family meals.
