Object history
This campaign (formerly 'Kill the Housing Bill', later 'Homes For All') was in response to the Housing and Planning Act 2016. This sought to abolish new secure and assured tenancies in favour of fixed term tenancies, and the introduction of a 'pay to stay' policy where council tenants earning over a certain amount would pay market or near market rates (this latter policy was later dropped).
This badge belonged to activists Nik Wood and Mary Pimm. Mary has acted as the chair of the Victoria Park Community Association, which represents residents living in Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
