Object history

Test and Trace was the UK Government scheme set up with the NHS to stop the spread of COVID-19 by encouraging both lateral flow and PCR tests. Free lateral flow tests were available for self-testing from the government/NHS during 2020 and 2021. In April 1st 2022, it was announced that lateral flow tests would no longer be provided for free.

Lateral flow tests were made up of multiple pieces within one kit such as the swab, test strip, liquid, tube and holder.
