White plastic swab with fuzzy tip. The swab is unopened in a sterile paper and plastic packet.

Object history

This swab is a part of a COVID-19 Rapid Lateral Flow test. It would have been used to collect samples from the nose and throat. The sample would then be mixed with extraction solution and dripped onto a test strip to show if COVID-19 was present in the sample.
